A remorsefull memory

In her eyes the ocean I saw

The light beyond the waves

I by for stopped for a visit,

But all I got was a gaze

Again and again, I went,

Waiting for a spark,

But all I saw were fearful tears

That left a mark on my heart

But the more I try the more I find

That that ocean was not meant to be.

The easier it gets to let it go

Is like drifting off to sea

In conclusion, I found an anchor and held onto it.

Leaving behind what was left for me all those years ago.
